Yes, I still use the nmake file (like I already wrote in my initial posting),
but I get compile errors when trying to build the 64 bit target using the
cross-compiler and linker installed by Visual C++ 2005 Pro on Windows XP 32 bit.

Which is most likely not the problem of the nmake file. I always used the nmake
file for this. It used to work, until Steve pulled in the new changes
for the context menu icon drawing.

The Express C++ 2008 edition (which I DO have because it is gratis)
installed on Windows XP 32 bit is still able to compile and link the 32 bit 
target,
but NOT the 64 bit target.

I don't have Visual C++ 2008 Standard (or Pro). Unfortunately. Which I suppose
would be able to build the 64 bit target using the current tip of the default 
branch.

That's why I used to use the Visual C++ 2005 Pro cross compiler+linker for
the 64 bit target. But that doesn't work any more.
