I think it is a good idea. Selected files means that the user want to do
something with the selected files.

If we follow this train of thought, then the dialogs (e.g. remove/add/diff
should work on the selected files) - I don't have THG installed here, but
seem to remember that I have seen a few cases where the selection was not
reflected in dialogs. I will have to come up with precise references, I
known.

Have you examined how to capture right-drag events? TSVN uses this for move
operations.
