It doesn't matter, you can still pull from and push to the Linux server
repository.

Note that a central repository is not mandatory. 

You can find more information at the Mercurial wiki about the difference between
the store (which is affected by push/pull) and the working directory (which
is not affected by push/pull):

If possible, I would recommend using the  
<[email protected]>
mail list in the future as this forum is not very active.
