Have you tried the operation from the command line?

If the problem is still there, the issue should be posted on the Mercurial
mail list.

However, more information is probably needed to find the cause of the
problem. Try to run the command line commands with the --debug option

To be absolutely sure you might want to uninstall TortoiseHg and install a
pure Mercurial distribution like
http://mercurial.berkwood.com/
