There's two issues here to hash out: When extdiff launches kdiff3 in directory diff mode, it actually makes two temporary copies of the workspace layout with just the files that have changed, so changes you make in the diff tool are not echoed back to the working directory until your diff tool exits. What I'm proposing is to open a new window in this circumstance that provides the same directory level view of the files which can be diffed. When you select one, it will be opened in 'single file mode', which means it diffs directly from the working copy when that is appropriate. So any edits you make are done directly to the wc file so you can build/test them immediately. So the new window would provide two benefits: 1) it would work seamlessly for all visual diff tools, not just the few that do directory diffs 2) it would work out of the working directory when it is one of the diff sources Given both benefits, would you still want to use kdiff3's built-in directory diff mode? Do I need to make this an optional feature? -- Steve Borho ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ _______________________________________________ Tortoisehg-discuss mailing list Tortoisehg-discuss@lists.sourceforge.net https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/tortoisehg-discuss
