For the next release (0.10) I would like to upgrade Python to 2.6 and GTK to 2.18. To avoid polluting the stable nightly builds and later 0.9 stable releases, I'm going to start building the nightly packages on two different machines. Stable nightly packages will be built on the same build box as before (Python 2.5, GTK 2.16) while unstable nightly packages will be built on another machine.
Python 2.6 brings with it some baggage. It is built with modern visual studio tools (VC9) and thus requires VC9 redistributables to be installed. We'll have to figure out the mechanics of this by the time 0.10 is released. Optimally, we could ship the appropriate merge module with our installer, but that would require us moving to a different installer. In the short term, I'll upload the correct package to thg-winbuild along with the nightly builds. -- Steve Borho ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ This SF.Net email is sponsored by the Verizon Developer Community Take advantage of Verizon's best-in-class app development support A streamlined, 14 day to market process makes app distribution fast and easy Join now and get one step closer to millions of Verizon customers http://p.sf.net/sfu/verizon-dev2dev _______________________________________________ Tortoisehg-discuss mailing list Tortoisehg-discuss@lists.sourceforge.net https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/tortoisehg-discuss
