Hi Mario.

A helping hand is always welcome, but have you considered which parts of the
project you want to contribute to? From your mail I gather that your
interest is in translating THG to Croatian, and for this you don't need
membership.

Please read the first section of
http://bitbucket.org/tortoisehg/stable/wiki/developers/Translation
which lists the different roles you can have in our translation effort.
Below is a little more details

-- Translation Tester --
No membership required. Pull a .po file and figure out how to install it
into your installation. Report issues on mailing list or bitbucket. Most
translation testers quickly become translators as well, but in theory you
could do just testing.

-- Translator --
No membership is required, simply push .po files to launchpad or work
directly on the web interface.
We need all the help we can get here!

-- Quality Assurance --
By members of the TortoiseHg Translation Team (see
https://translations.launchpad.net/+groups/tortoisehg-translators)
In this case quality assurance means assigning a person that have to approve
*every* contributed translation for a particular language. Most of our
supported languages does not have this in place. In fact, only pt_BR is
organized this way, and only because we have a very dedicated person to do
this. Note that the approver has the power to postpone all translations!
You should only apply for this if you are very dedicated to quality, have a
lot of time on your hands, will be available for approval work before every
release, and are dissatisfied with the current quality of translations.

-- Translation Infrastructure --
By members of the TortoiseHg I18N Team (see
https://launchpad.net/~tortoisehg-i18n/+members)
Your job is to upoad .pot files to Launchpad once in a while. For the stable
branch this happens rarely (a few times before string freeze, i.e. a few
times every 4 months). For the unstable branch it could potentially happen
every day, but so far it has happened a couple of times pr month)
You will be more of a tool-smith. You have to juggle Launchpad, bzr,
po-tools, but does not have to do any translations.
The current team size seems to be large enough to do this, so you should
only apply if you want to radically change how this should be done, or if
you feel that the updates are too infrequent.

Regards,
Peer
