You're right Steve, it does work. Only not the way I expected it. I started typing the search string, and hit return to start the search. And then I tried to use ctrl-G or F3. But you do not have to hit return, as the search is incremental, as you type. Instead of hittinh return, one simply has to hit ctrl-G after stopping typing, and the next occurence of the entered string will be found. Hope you didn't loose too much time on this. Thanks anyway for considering it. And ... it might be useful to explicitely mention this behaviour in the manual.
