Yes, I'm moving... I only have my wife's computer in the apartment and
that is soon the only thing that is not in a box :-)

The Internet subscription expires tomorrow and then I'll be offline
for a week. So I'm afraid I wont have any constructive input before
August 8th or so.

into another case of ui objects being copied in a weird way. IIRC, all
that matters from the point of view of the eol extension, is that the
preupdate hook is set on the target repository so that the correct
settings can be read before 'hg clone' does the update. I recall
having to fiddle with this when I wrote the extension in the first
place until I found the right hook, at least when invoked from the
command line.
