Hi all,
On a Win7 x86 box I'm having problems with context menus. When I click on
one of the (e.g. workbench) nothing happens. I was able to turn on shell
extension debugging and see the following:
00000239 4.70216227 [3948] [THGx86] CShellExtCMenu::GetCommandString:
idCmd = 1, uFlags = 0 (GCS_VERBA), cchMax = 65
00000240 4.70220613 [3948] [THGx86] CShellExtCMenu::GetCommandString:
name = "workbench"
00000241 4.70226049 [3948] [THGx86] CShellExtCMenu::GetCommandString:
res = 0, pszName = ""
00000242 4.70252514 [3948] [THGx86] CShellExtCMenu::InvokeCommand
00000243 4.70261383 [3948] [THGx86] CShellExtCMenu::InvokeCommand:
idCmd = 1
00000244 4.70269346 [3948] [THGx86] RunDialog: THG root is empty
Apparently the registry key that contains the install location of TortoiseHg
on this computer isn't able to be read correctly.
I've manually checked that [HKCU]\Software\TortoiseHg exists and has the
correct data in it. In fact, when I went to add the shell debugging
variable I found that the key could not be accessed and I had to change it's
ownership in order to modify it.
Note: I've tried deleting this registry key and re-installing, when I do
this it comes back with the messed up permissions. Is there anything the
latest 2.1.3 and 2.1.4 installers could be doing that causes access to this
registry key to be messed up?
Thanks,
Bob Eby
