You can create subrepo references from thg: 1) Clone the repo that will be used as a subrepo into the parent directory. 2) In the thg "Repo Registry", right-click on the parent repo and select "Add a subrepository..." 3) Follow the instructions in the dialog boxes. Please note that thg will only let you create subrepos with trivial mappings (e.g. lib = lib).
