The company that I work for has numerous large repositories that end up creating working copies in the 2-5 GB range. We are now in the process of migrating our PCs from Windows XP to Windows 7 (about time). Our current process is to make sure all changes are committed and all files are unlocked before migration of the data on the PC.
Migration of the 1000s of files in a SVN working copy can take a large amount of time. We have told users that if they don't need an existing working copy to delete it, so that it is not migrated. Does anyone else have any other advice or tips that they have used when upgrading their OS?
