Are you sure it works if you don't check the box? Because if that box isn't 
checked, error messages aren't shown either.

how is the commit dialog started? If it's started with multiple paths, the 
"current working directory" sometimes can't be properly set to a working 
copy path, so it defaults to NULL which Windows then changes to the temp 
dir.
