Another possibility to give better access to the desired advanced mode would be a click modifier (for example alt) in the property list. At the moment It does not matter whether I doubleclick or alt-doubleclick or shift-doubleclick an entry in the properties list. In each case the "default" editor will open. I would be grateful if you consider this option.
