More interestingly, in some WC/non-WC/non-hooked-WC cases the hook is 
actually called with all of the affected WC folders as its "pathfile" 
argument, so - for example - my Pre-Update hook gets called with:

PATHFILE arg contents:
c:/my_work/project1
c:/my/work/temp_project_not_versioned
CWD arg:
c:/my_work
