As some of you are probably new to this list, allow me to point out some good procedures for naming pages:
http://teachingopensource.org/index.php/Help:Page_naming [1] Summary: * MediaWiki likes certain ways of naming pages, and doesn't like others. * Pseudo-nesting Pages/Like/This create elite codes that newbies have a hard time breaking. * Natural-language and descriptive page names are search engine friendly, easier to understand what the page is about when viewing it in a search result, and easier to remember how to find the page later. Also, don't forget to put your page in at least one category with the helpful [[Category:Foo Bar]] markup in the page source. It's not too late. You can rename (move) pages in the wiki; a redirect is automatically created. Don't forget to include moving sub-pages, and then rename those sub-pages. (You can also use the 'What links here' page to find and fix incoming links.) cheers - Karsten [1] I created a new [[Help]] page for the wiki. It has two sections: http://teachingopensource.org/index.php/Help#Help_me_understand_Teaching_Open_Source http://teachingopensource.org/index.php/Help#Help_me_contribute_to_the_TOS_wiki The second section has a link to the [[Help:Page naming]], which links out to: http://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Help:Wiki_structure#Page_naming -- Karsten 'quaid' Wade, Community Gardener http://quaid.fedorapeople.org AD0E0C41
