My name is Karl Wurst and I'm a CS professor at Worcester State College in Massachusetts. I would like to be a participant in a POSSE this summer.
I am teaching our capstone projects course in the Fall, and rather than having student teams design and build a small project from scratch, I would like to get them to participate in an Open Source project. I attended the SoftHum workshop at Drexel last summer, and wanted to have my students last Fall participate in Open Source projects, but did not feel that I understood the process well enough myself to guide the students. I need to actually participate in a project to become comfortable with the process, before I can feel comfortable requiring the students to participate. I would very much like to participate in a POSSE this summer to get that immersion experience, so that I can do it with my students in the Fall. What POSSEs are being planned, and who do I contact to apply to participate. Thanks. -- --- Karl __________________________________________________ Karl R.
