Two of the students students who attended our 2009 class
on Open Source Practices are now managing a budding
open source project of their own and got accepted as a
project (as mentors) for the GSoC.

They are now actively looking to advertise the opportunity
for other students to join them working on this project for
the summer.

I would like very much to support them at this stage, since
after all, the whole purpose of the class was to motivate
students to do exactly what they are doing now.

Would it be appropriate to post their announcement in this
list ? (with the requests that the faculty in the list forward it
to their local students ?).

---

In the great scheme of things, this actually touches on one
of the topics that we discussed at TOS 2009, the need for
a public forum that will match willing students with FOSS
projects.

I'll appreciate pointers to mailing lists and forums where
you think that it will be appropriate to post this type of
announcement.

      Thanks

            Luis
