http://www.bigideasfest.org/ - December 5-8, 2010, in Half Moon Bay, CA. And then I looked up and went "oh! subject line!" Oh well. :) Remember, folks - we *do* have POSSE Alumni grant funding available, so if you're a POSSE alumni and think this gathering would help you in your Teaching Open Source endeavours, please do shoot out a funding proposal to this list (you've seen a couple funding proposals go by by now, but here's http://teachingopensource.org/index.php/Budget with more examples) describing: 0. Who you are (name, institution - mostly for record-keeping for Red Hat Finance so we know who stuff is going to) 1. What POSSE you attended ("RIT 2010" or "Raleigh 2009" etc. suffices) 2. what you need funded and how much it's going to cost (links to places to purchase them == good! lets me spend money on your behalf faster) 3. what you're going to do there, how it ties into the TOS stuff you're working on, and why it's going to be beneficial to the TOS community - concrete is good, like "I'll liveblog" or "will present $topic" or "my students and I will run a hackathon/workshop on $cool_project_we're_doing." Note that trip reports (blogposts to Planet TOS) are required from anyone we're funding travel for. :) Ask us for money! Please! We've got $29k left of POSSE Alumni grants for this academic year (between now and March 2011). We want to hear what people are up to so we can support you, help you find resources... just let us know. --Mel PS: For those of you who aren't POSSE Alumni yet, come participate in a workshop next summer. ;) _______________________________________________ tos mailing list tos@teachingopensource.org http://teachingopensource.org/mailman/listinfo/tos
