We've gotten a lot of great feedback on the POSSE cohort program
proposal
(http://teachingopensource.org/index.php/Red_Hat_education_strategy#Pitch_to_professors

- basically, summer workshop + school-year followup with course support
+ summer book sprint) and so we're going to go for it. (Seriously, this
mailing list really does determine the education strategy of a Fortune
500 company... thank you, everybody, for all your advice.)

On March 7th, applications will open. (There'll be fanfare about that on
this list, no worries about missing it.) Thus, before March 7th, we've
got to pick a date, so professors know if they can actually make the
workshop they're applying for.

IF you are a professor AND you are interested in applying, please take 5
minutes to let us know what weekends would work for you this summer, so
we can choose a date that's actually convenient for faculty! (This is
not a commitment to apply or attend or anything, just a way to help us
pick a good date.)

Here's what's going to happen from here on out.

* Schedule-poll closes March 4th.
* On March 5th, we'll pick a date based on the poll data.
* On March 7th, applications open. We'll fill seats on a rolling basis
until we've got a full cohort of 15 attendees accepted and confirmed;
I'm hoping for a mix of TOS/POSSE old-timers, folks who've taught open
source before, and some new faces from SIGCSE, colleagues of alumni, etc.

Yes, I still need to design the application. You'll see me working on
that on the TOS list over the next week or so. I'm thinking about having
a couple TOS folks who are *not* professors help with the app review, so
if you fit that description and you're interested, please ping me. If
you are a professor, hit the schedulepoll. ;)

Thanks, everyone.

PS: Oh man, this summer's gonna *rock*.
