Just a heads-up, folks - I've allocated $3300 for POSSE Basics (Raleigh, July 2011) budget based on http://teachingopensource.org/index.php/POSSE_Basics_Raleigh_2011_bid#Funding, and updated the budget at http://teachingopensource.org/index.php/Budget#2012.
We now have $43527.59 remaining in our education budget for the year. This sounds like a lot, but I've been told that Max and Sebastian will start carving out a budget for a few big conferences (OSCON, FIE) sometime soon, and I still need to set aside chunks for the RIT POSSE and for POSSE cohort course funding once we nail down those numbers, so we may be running pretty tight. The three of us tend to keep a tight financial ship, though, so we're gonna be okay. :) --Mel, who is slowly starting to envision her ideal project budget accounting program as she does the manual wiki-work here. When I finally take a finance/accounting class, I'm going to have so many revelations. PS: For folks thinking about running their own POSSEs, you can see the expenses for this one at http://teachingopensource.org/index.php/POSSE_Basics_Raleigh_2011#Budget _______________________________________________ tos mailing list tos@teachingopensource.org http://teachingopensource.org/mailman/listinfo/tos
