Some people here may already have seen this, but I came across it
through my department's mailing list and thought some TOS faculty might
want to submit work they've done with their students in open source.
(It's another "have you done innovative things in computing education?"
award -- nifty to see the things other faculty have been doing!)

Dear Computational Science Educator:
The Undergraduate Computational Engineering and Sciences (UCES) Award
Program sponsored by the Krell Institute is seeking applications for the
2011 awards which will be presented in conjunction with SC11 in Seattle
this November. The program seeks to recognize innovations in
computational science education. Up to five finalists will be invited to
Seattle (travel expenses paid) to present their work at a symposium
during the SC11 Education Program which meets November 12-15. After the
presentations, up to two winners will be selected to receive a
certificate and a cash prize.
A complete description of the program and an application form can be
found at
https://www.krellinst.org/csgf/awards-contests/uces-award-program.
Please forward this announcement to your colleagues in the computational
science community and invite them to apply. You can also nominate
someone else via the application form.
The deadline for applications is July 31.
We hope to hear from you and/or the CES educators at your institution soon.
Thanks!
Chuck Swanson
UCES 2011 Award Program Director
