Hi Folks,

Many of us have been looking ahead to conferences in the fall. There are two
academic conferences that are likely venues for TOS publications and events
held in October: Frontiers in Education (FIE) in Oklahoma and Special
Interest Group for Information Technology Education (SIGITE) in Florida.

Unfortunately, these two conferences are being held at exactly the same
time. I have attended both conferences in the past. While FIE is a much
larger conference, it also covers a wider domain of engineering education.
Recently I have observed a diminishing computing audience at FIE. Therefore,
I draw your attention to the SIGITE conference. It has a smaller attendance
(less than 100), but it is much more focused on computing and has a
community that is very welcoming to TOS topics. The information about the
conference is still being posted, but typically submissions would be in
March.

Just wanted to bring some attention to SIGITE and also let you know the
reasons why I'm submitting to SIGITE rather than FIE this year. I do wish
that they weren't being held at the same time!

Heidi
