Hi all - I’m involved with a cross-sector open source mentorship interest group that recently launched monthly calls. There is definitely some overlap in interest and experience between early participants and the TOS community!
Our next call is on Wednesday, June 12 @ 1pm PT / 4pm ET. This call’s discussion will focus on what open source mentorship looks like in academic settings (e.g. in computer science courses). Later calls will explore OSPO needs, mentee experiences, funding, and more. It’s a friendly, diverse, and informal group. We intend for this to be a place to identify shared needs, pool resources, debug existing efforts, and support new ones. We’d welcome your help in further shaping the group as it grows! Please consider joining us and/or letting me know if you would like to join but cannot make this time. Please consider registering (takes 1 min!), as it will help us know who/how many people to expect: https://ucsc.zoom.us/meeting/register/tJcof-GurTwjHtLjzdzO-fmC5UB-VvefF9kJ But you can also just join the meeting directly if you like: https://ucsc.zoom.us/j/93588637946?pwd=VXBta1FJTG9RNVpsbVdQNzNBUnNTZz09 Other links... - Our Discord community: https://discord.gg/k2tPFT2Q - Our mailing list*: https://lists.opendev.org/mailman3/lists/floss-mentoring.lists.opendev.org/ * check your junk folder / please confirm your subscription; they’re been getting mis-filtered by Gmail - Call notes: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1oE7cOALIYvPrf374id5WX141EvoCCruWkGDJalJzhlo/edit?usp=sharing Hope that some of you will join us!
