***Madness are to perform in London before the Christmas Tour!!!***
It has been announced today that there will be a day of celebration
in conjunction with Doc Martens to celebrate the company's new
MADNESS boot. Yes, that's right a special boot branded with the
Madness logo.
On THURSDAY 30th SEPTEMBER 1999 at 2pm, the day will
begin with a special signing session by the band at the Covent
Garden Doc Martens store where fans can buy the new boots, get
them autographed and get hold of a new book celebrating the
history of DMs which namechecks Madness amongst others.
But the best I have saved until last, that evening Madness will play
a special charity concert at London's Electric Ballroom. Tickets for
the gig will be just �10 (!!!) and their is a maximum of two per
person. �2.50 of each ticket will go to SHELTER the charity which
works for the homeless.
Now apparently tickets only went on sale today at 12pm (BST) and
are only available form Stargreen (20 Argyll Street, Oxford Circus,
London, W1). Their telephone number is 0171-734-8932.
Unfortunately they do not have a website and do not do on-line
booking.
I haven't had a chance to ring them yet myself, as I'm at work so
I'm only speculating, but it might be the case that you can only get
tickets in person. Let's hope not, eh!
