Yesterday I took a day trip to London where among other things I collected my ticket for next week and paid a visit to The Dublin Castle. I got chatting to the barman and mentioned that I was a Madness fan and he then told me that Madness had wanted to book The Dublin Castle for New Years Eve BUT The Dublin Castle would not be open for New Years Eve so they refused. I spent the rest of the day feeling slightly disappointed at the news. I fully appreciate the reasons why The Dublin Castle would not want to open that day, main one of course being staff wages but in my opinion it is a missed opportunity on their part, The Dublin Castle would have been a brilliant venue for Madness to play in the millennium and would have probably been packed full of fans. I personally would have loved to seen Madness perform at The Dublin Castle as I feel it would have been truly memorable event. Obviously there would have been major issues with capacity and hopefully many fans on the list would have got the chance to attend and for those lucky enough to attend, it would have probably been a very special and enjoyable evening. We will have to wait and see what another venue is chosen, if indeed they still intend to play on New Years Eve. Fiona __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!?
