Personally I don't mind admitting
that I've never owned pair of Docs, nor ever will, Im one of those females
that looks ridiculous in anything like that.
I feel it was a huge compliment to
Madness for DM to bring out a boot in their name, looking through the book,
there were many bands well known for wearing the boots, but they chose Madness
as the people who had represented them so well over the years. They could have
used some one with a bigger selling name, but instead it was our lads from
London.
Your average DM's cost around 50,
these are a limited edition, & although I wouldn't wear them, for reasons
already stated (I'd look like a pratt!) I thought they were pretty groovy
anyway!
I don't know that its fair to say
that UK Maddies will pay more for Madness related things than anyone else,
but it has been said on the list many times from folks all over the world, that
we'd buy a recording of them brushing their teeth!
Tacky? I don't think so, it's one of
those things Maddies used to do anyway, write Madness on their boots, here its
done for you & won't wear off!
Commercialism? Sure, but hey its the
business isn't it.
Me? I say to DM, nice
one!
