Hi All,
About 9 this morning I rushed down to my local Our Price to pick up the new
Madness single "Johnny The Horse".
As normal I got both CD's and the tape.
So now on with the review:
CD1:
"Johnny The Horse"
What can you say about this brilliant slice of Madness that hasn't already
been said.
It is the best single so far, far superior to the great "Lovestruck", and in
my opinion "Wizard" should be the next single.
"I Was The One"
Great song by Barso here.
In fact the opening reminds me a little of the mighty "Disappear", but only
for a second, apart from that a great little song with some nice touches.
Bright, breezy, and just plain fun.
Very nice!
"Dreaming Man"
A bit of a strange one this.
Reminds me more of Suggs solo songs than Madness.
But a nice return to form from the king of the B-Side Mr. Foreman.
And I think its Carl on vocals but I'm not totally sure of that so
"Don't Quote Me On That".
CD2:
"Johnny The Horse"
See above...
"You're Wonderful" (Remix)
Now in my opinion this NOT the fantasic "Johnny The Horse" should have been
the single.
It ranks among things like "I'll Compete" & "Victoria Gardens" that should
have been singles as well.
As for leaving this off the album, I don't know what the lads are playing
at!
Anyway the title describes the song, its just a pity it's not as guitar
heavy as it is live.
Oh well...
"Johnny The Horse" (Video)
A great video for a great song.
Simply the best video Madness have ever, ever, done.
Brilliant!
Well there you go that's my opinion so you can take it or you can leave it!
Mad Thanks,
Si
