TO GIVE LIVE PERFORMANCE” Ian Dury is to give his first live
performance since cancelling a string of summer gigs. He is to appears as a special guest on BBC's Later With
Jools Holland. Dury, who had hits with his band The Blockheads, including
What A Waste, Reasons To Be Cheerful and Hit Me With Your Rhythm Stick, will
appear with Madness for one song. The cancer-stricken star, who cancelled the summer gigs
because he did not feel up to performing, has been feeling in better form in
recent weeks. He performs the song Drip Fed Fred with the band, which is
included on Madness's new album Wonderful. "He's fighting fit and in very good spirits," said
a spokesman for the singer. Dury has also lined a series of three concerts on
consecutive nights in the run-up to Christmas. He plays at Cambridge Corn Exchange on December 18, Fairfield
Halls, Croydon, the following day and at Warwick Arts Centre on December 20. |
