Well, I guess that puts paid to any thoughts of good old Ian supporting the boys on the forthcoming tour.

Subject: [total-madness] IAN DURY & MADNESS

Hi folks,

Just come across a snippet in the Freeserve News.  Looks as though Ian is performing tonight with the boys.

 Article reads:

FIGHTING-FIT DURY TO GIVE LIVE PERFORMANCE

Ian Dury is to give his first live performance since cancelling a string of summer gigs.

He is to appears as a special guest on BBC's Later With Jools Holland.

Dury, who had hits with his band The Blockheads, including What A Waste, Reasons To Be Cheerful and Hit Me With Your Rhythm Stick, will appear with Madness for one song.

The cancer-stricken star, who cancelled the summer gigs because he did not feel up to performing, has been feeling in better form in recent weeks.

He performs the song Drip Fed Fred with the band, which is included on Madness's new album Wonderful.

"He's fighting fit and in very good spirits," said a spokesman for the singer.

Dury has also lined a series of three concerts on consecutive nights in the run-up to Christmas.

He plays at Cambridge Corn Exchange on December 18, Fairfield Halls, Croydon, the following day and at Warwick Arts Centre on December 20.
