So you think that Madness MAY go up higher next week in the charts? Well I
certainly hope you are right cos it deserved a much higher chart placing
(Virgin records crap promotion notwithstanding and all) but as we all know,
in this day and age normally a single peaks on its first or at the most
second week of release (ironically an exception to that rule was Suggs
himself whose 'Cecilia' climbed up for 4 or 5 weeks till it reached its #4
peak!) but nowadays it happens all the time (ESPECIALLY in the UK charts,
which to me have long become debatable!)... a song steaming in at #1 to be
out of the Top 75 a month or so later :(( See, in the 80s the masters at
that were Gary Numan and The Style Council who almost always peaked on their
first or second weeks, but now it's become kinda 'trendy' to do so! I DO
hope in my heart of hearts that JTH does a 'My Girl' like my pal Vince says,
but I sadly doubt it, I'm afraid ~~ Malta Paul
