1. Wonderful, the album, is brilliant and is up there with all the other Madness albums including my fave Absolutely. I don't really care about chart placements, either for singles or the album as long as the band know that we like what they do and want them to continue. How could you compare Wonderful to anything by say Westlife or Steps?

2. My favourite track on initial listening is undoubtably  'Drip fed Fred' which is absolutely brilliant. In my opinion this should be released as a single in time for the Xmas market. I would also suggest that any royalties from the release of this track as a single be donated to Ian Dury's favourite charity (Lee may not agree).

3. Wonderful, the song. I was one of several  who intimated on the list that the brief recorded version on Maddley wasn't a patch on the live version heard at MS3 and Manchester a week later. I hate to think that this might have been a factor in the song not appearing on the album but at least we still have the 'B-ide version'.However I implore, beg, beseech etc those of you who have access to Cathal, Mark and the rest to get them to play the song during the Xmas tour, preferably as first encore.

4. Two noble traditions upheld:
    a) No lyric sheet with the album.
Given that lyrics have been provided with both singles so far, and with the most recent singles compilation ( The Heavy, Heavy Hits), why not provide a lyric sheet as part of the album sleeve?

    b) the word 'Day' in a title:
A most noble tradition, this, and one that I am delighted to see continue with the inclusion of 'Saturday night Sunday morning'. This tradition has covered four singles (count 'em!), various album tracks, and has continued throughout The Madness, the Nutty Boys, and Suggs as a solo artiste. When they/we were young and naive they settled for two tracks containing the word 'night' instead (both on OSB)

5. 'beatles references'
Thanks to Peter for the review from the Mail on Sunday which I hadn't previously seen. I must admit I still don't get the Beatle-ish references mentioned, which were glaringly obvious on the 'Three Pyramids Club', perhaps the influence will manifest itself in time but to me 'Wonderful' sounds like Madness which to me means it sounds like nobody else before or since could ever sound

Apologies to all if this is as incoherent as I feel but I'm sure some of you will agree with something
All the best
Paul
