Hi All,
Just wanted to know what everyone else who heard
it thought of the documentary on radio 4 this morning. Personally I enjoyed it
for what it was but felt it was a bit superficial, by which I really mean it
should have been a six-part series each lasting an hour!, rather than a one-off
half-hour. I felt there was a lot more that could have gone into the background
of ska and more music would also have ben nice. Still, I suppose it was aimed at
middle-aged housewives having background radio whilst they did the housework,
and from that point of view, like I say, it was quite enjoyable. I don't expect
it will really turn my mother-in law onto the delights of Prince Buster though.
