Hiya Paul and all you Maddies,

I'll try and snap you out of it Paul;-) Well there was never any chance of
it getting released for Christmas. With all the delays, it was the very
last week of October that JTH came out. So the hope would have been that
the month of November would be spent promoting that and the album. So they
would never have been planning another single for the end of that month or
even early December. Someone (sorry can't remember who) told us all of the
launch of the single at the cancer charity function on November 30th, but
that was it. There was never a chance of the single getting printed up
quickly enough for Christmas. They will also need a B-side or two recorded,
although releasing a double A-side means they don't need as many other tracks.

Personally, I think a double A-side is a waste of two brilliant songs. The
novelty value and presence of Ian Dury would guarantee DFF some publicity
and hopefully some success. And THEN Elysium should have been released as
the fourth single to totally blow everyone's minds with its mature,
sophisticated sound. Releasing it as a AA-side seems a tiny bit like a last
throw of the dice, piling all their eggs into one basket. I hope that's not
the case because AA-side or not, these two songs are each worthy of a Top
10 hit if people get to hear them, and so with both of them on one single
it *should* be an essential purchase!

Cheers for now,
Peter
