Yesterday I recorded the repeat of the Paul de Leeuw Show where Madness
performed last Saturday.
As soon I got home I watched it and here's a little review:

Paul announced the band by asking one of his guests if he knew Madness. His
answer: "yes, that band from twenty years ago". Paul: "We'll, there back!
They've recorded a new album, Wonderful Madness, and here they are".
Suggs comes running out of the back-stage area and the rest of the band is
already on stage. They immediately start playing Lovestruck. Unfortunately
Chas is missing so there's only six nutty boys on stage. Since Chas is
absent the singing is al little poor. Lee jumps in to sing second voice in
the chorus but for the rest of the song it's just Suggs.
The song is played live and they do it pretty well. Suggs sings well, only
the first sentence is a bit out of tone. Lee's sax sounds great! (sounds
very promising for the Christmas tour).
The boys are very casual dressed. Suggs is wearing jeans and a Harrington
jacket, Lee has put on his best London Underground T-shirt and Chris is
heavily bearded and wearing a white wintersports jacked.

When Lovestruck is finished Paul thanks them and that's it. No interview, no
thank you from the band, nothing.

I do think that this performance does some good for Madness in Holland. A
lot of people don't know that they have a new cd or don't even know that
they still exist. Unfortunately Loverstruck is already released a few months
ago and (since not so popular) difficult to get at the moment.

Well, that's about it,

Hope to see a lot of you next week,
Henkjan
