Hi All,
Well I went to my first Madness gig yesterday and it was bloody well
FANTASTIC!!!
What other word could be used but "Wonderful".
Me and my mate Kev got there far to early ,6:00pm, and had to wait for half
an hour before they opened the doors.
Once inside we got our Vote For Fred card and went into the stage area.
At about 8:00pm the two Ska DJ's came on to give us all a brief history of
Ska.
I thought they were quite good but most of the people next to me thought
they were crap.
Anyway at 9:00pm on came Madness, to a hell of a response, and kicked things
off, as usual, with "One Step Beyond".
The band looked to be having a fantastic time and Bedders was wearing that
cool money suit from Abbamania.
They played for about 90 mins (with 2 encore's) and the set included new
songs like "4 am", "Drip Fed Fred", & "The Wizard" as well as classics like
"The Sun & The Rain" & "Bed & Breakfast Man".
The most memorable thing for me was when Lee chucked his drink over me
(cause I was right at the front), my mate ,and everyone near us!
After the gig I managed to get a program, a hat, and a "Wonderful" T-Shirt.
Then had to get past all the dodgy blokes selling bootleg Madness gear.
All in all it was the best night of my life ever and I really hope they tour
again.
So if your going to Wembley I hope you enjoy it as much as I did!
