hiya madsters,

sorry for the delay with my review but i've tried sending it twice & it hasn't appeared yet so i'm going to try doing it in installments (it's a wee bit long but i'm burstin' with stuff to say !)

First I'd like to say a big "cheers" to all who attended the madmeet, it was a top day spent in top company to see a top band - "magic" ! (Lisa B & Geordie Al "our leaders" did us proud). To echo the great Mr Smash's words "it was emotional".

Having driven down from Fife, Colin & I checked into our hotel in Gateshead at about 1.30pm, flung our bags in the rooms, out the door & taxi to O'Neills bar if you please. I think we were first there, but soon every one started to arrive (Chris, Al, Lisa, Mark Carlo&friend, Stoo, Craig, Mr G, Iain M, Mike, Ian, Peter, Dave, Adele, Emma, Jenny & Cathy - sorry if i've missed anyone i'm afraid drink takes its toll on the old memory banks). It was great to finally put faces to the names. After the introductions/hello agains it was down to some serious drinking & talk of all things MAD, although Wee Stoo was already well oiled (ye lasted well wee man). I was impressed with the way the barmaid finished off pouring guiness with the shape of a shamrock on the head & Stoo was impressed with her for different reasons..."aye she'd get it.." he quoted, Get what Stoo, a tin of irn bru ? (not !).

I knew this was going to be day to remember & for me it was brilliant to be in the company of people who feel the same way about Madness as me.

end of sesh 1, sesh 2 to follow......why aye man !  Bob W
