What a bloody outrage!! I
don't know who the hell those people think they are. Wembley arena for
Chrissakes! I bet whilst everyone else drinking, dancing, enjoying
themselves, he was sat with his little notepad on the wings somewhere and his
little music journalism BA and bag full of Belle & Sebastian and Miles Davis
rarities looking down on the whole affair. Christ it gets me angry.
This is what's wrong with the British Music Press, he needn't even have gone to
the gig to write that review. As for saying they're nothing but a
'karaoke' band 'avin a larf - did they not plug much of their new
material? They did at Newcastle. Plus, with as many hits as they
have, why would they play Victoria Gardens? What a dickhead. One
Better Day, Yesterday's Men, Michael Caine even. There's a man who clearly
doesn't get the level of social commentary in Madness' songs, in my opinion only
paralled before possibly, by Ray Davis and after, maybe, by Blur.
It makes me sick that the
general cynicism by our british journalists has sunk to such a pathetic level so
that he could sit there and think of the most amusing way to slag them off
('abola virus...').
Get a job, man.
Cheerio, Adam.
