I can't believe the version that Madness played on the Lottery on
Saturday will be the remix they choose to release. Apart from the last verse
missing (something which renders the story of the song pointless), if indeed
they did not 'round up the low-lives and local CID' (something I haven't
checked on the video, yet) then the whole song has been well and truly
butchered. The only glimmer of hope is that as Ian was actually singing live
whilst everyone else miming, the original lyrics have been retained, and
this was purely because the Lottery is a 'family' show.
