Hello EvZ, On The Beat Pete and all you Maddies,

I can see why many may think this a rip-off but if you've ever played
Divine Madness alongside The Lot, you'll notice the huge gulf in sound
quality and recording level. And if, like me, you have a minidisc recorder
and make up your own compilations covering all your favourite tracks, it
sounds ridiculous when you go from a remastered track from The Lot to an
un-mastered track. It's quite frightening what a difference it made. And to
have all those singles which weren't on the albums remastered to the same
quality will be wonderful IMHO.

However, I also feel that to make this venture *truly* worthwhile, they
must not use the original Divine Madness, which used the album versions of
many of the singles. They should go back to the original masters of the
actual singles, so that we get the proper versions which were relased as
singles. Afterall, we have the album versions remastered now! So I'd like
to start a campaign to make Virgin release a singles compilation using the
real singles. That means it should NOT include the album versions of:

The Prince
One Step Beyond
The Return Of The Los Palmas 7
Shut Up
Cardiac Arrest
Tomorrow's Just Another Day
And even House Of Fun! They used the Complete Madness version rather than
the single version with the fairground organ fadeout!

We should demand that this be the case!!! Is anyone with me??? Other than
my old idea of reissuing the singles on CD with all the remixes and
B-sides, this is probably the best chance of us getting all the single
versions properly remastered! Why I will *happily* buy!

Who at Virgin would be dealing with this??? Any ideas???

Cheers for now,
Peter
