Greetings all,

Im writing to have a bit of a moan my family and I were on one of our
infamous family outings yesterday, and dropped by Londons Rock Circus to
have a look round the waxworks and memorabilia.
Considering how much Madness contributed to the music industry in the 80s
(and now the 90s), I was naturally expecting some sort of recognition of
their career on the museums behalf.
Now, I know the Nutty Boys cant exactly be categorised as Rock but since
they paid homage to the short-lived careers of Louise, the Backstreet Boys,
911 (911 or crying out loud!) and the Spice Girls (retch) I thought there
might have been room for a mere mention to the boys who once ruled and
dominated the English charts but did I find waxworks? No, but that didnt
surprise me. Did I find their handprints among the hundreds there? No.
Was there even a 2mm plaque quoting Mike Barson is the worlds number one
keyboard player? Not even that. I was extremely disappointed, to say the
least.
So, approaching a guide in one of the shows, (who must have been about early
twenties) I asked if there was absolutely any mention of the group Madness
in the whole of the museum, to which she stared at me blankly. Yeah, maybe
youre a bit young, I replied (which I thought would be a bit patronising
coming from someone half her age!) and walked off.
I was ecstatic to find Stings hand and waxwork (I stared at him for quite a
while) and thought the bit done for the Eurythmics was really cool it had
Sweet Dreams playing, with a waxwork of Daves head, splitting down the
middle to reveal Annies. I was also particularly impressed with Jools
Hollands efforts he presented the rock show and I thought he was
brilliant.
So why wasnt there anything to celebrate Madness career? Anybody got any
ideas? In the meantime, Im writing to Madame Tussauds to ask why not.

Polling day tomorrow peeps! Dont forget (like you would?!)
Anybody got any chart predictions for Sunday? Im wagering a rather
pessimistic (but realistic) Number 17.

CJ
