Didn't "What's That" not chart at all for The Madness?
As good as, Jeff. Searchiing through the old memory blanks, I mean banks, I
seem to remember "What's That" "peaked" at No.92!!! So there has been
worse, for some of the band.
Hi Guys...virgin also pulled it after five days of (non) sale, you could buy
remaining copies in the shops, but you could not order it, and it wouldn't
register sales for the chart.
I know there is a lot of dispondency on the list around the position of DFF
in the chart, it seems Radio 2 are only playing DFF on weekends, and Elysium
on weekdays, but not mentioning that it is a) Madness or b) a new single.
As for Virgin, I think they are a Waste of Space, any promotion that Virgin
do for the band, the band would end up paying for, literally out of their
own pocket (or profit). If you think again about original release dates, all
of Madness were available, but virgin changed the release date. I think
Madness have been dumped on too.
The other thing, is that Madness are not "trendy", give a good song to
anyone not fashoin concious, who ever it's by, and they'll admit what a good
song it is. Give it to todays commercially led fashoin concious record
buying public, and if the name don't fit, it aint gonna chart.
I think Madness should give it one last go from this album, and release the
communicator, the simplist songs sometimes shout the loudest ,message. Keep
faith in the band.
dissapear with the fun and the fear,
another chance to misbehave!
Carl.
