IAN DURY will be remembered by JOE STRUMMER, JOHN HEGLEY, 70's punk-poet
JOHN COOPER CLARKE and a host of others at the London Royal Festival Hall
on April 4.

This year's POP (the Poetry Olympics Party) will be dedicated to Dury's
memory following the legendary artist's death this week from cancer. He
had been due to headline the event.

It is the 20th year POP has been held. As in previous years, the evening
of spoken word and performance features an eclectic bunch of guests from
across both music and literature.

This year, writers Beryl Bainbridge and Hanif Kureishi will rub shoulders
with one of dub poetry's guiding lights Linton Kwesi Johnson and less well
known performance poets such as Valerie Bloom and Christopher Logue.

Tickets, priced between 10 - 30 are available from the Royal Festival
Hall box office on 020 7960 4242 or online at www.sbc.org.uk
