South of Sydney, just in the right place to watch "Sounds of
the 70's" last night @ 7:30pm @ SBS. (Found it completely by accident when
channel surfing)
The show was entitled "Shut Up Listen and Dance", I figured it
sounded promising. The first clip was Ian Dury & the
Blockheads "Sex & Drugs & Rock & Roll", followed by Police, Human
League, Kraftwerk, Elvis Costello & The Specials.
and then! "Night Boat to Cairo!" The subtitles called the song
"Old Grey Whistle Test" and it was on a banner behind the band. It was also on
the banner behind The Specials. What was/is the "Old Grey Whistle
Test"?
BTW SBS actually stands for "Soccer Broadcasting Service", if
the number of Turkish supporters I saw dancing outside of there on Thursday
morning (our time) means anything!
I don't remember "Our House" being in the music for "The
Castle". I'll have to watch it again.
bye for now
