How wonderful for you! Don and I just passed our 1 year mark a couple of
weeks ago. :)
I've been told that the string quartet played IMBL before the service,
but I really don't remember. Honestly the judge could have included a
pledge to eat peas on Tuesdays in with the the vows and I wouldn't have
noticed. Tad bit nervous. I had wanted the quartet to play a Madness
song, but when the time came my only request was that if they played that
@#$%! Titanic song they wouldn't survive to see the reception. ;) But
the best man's brother was in the quartet so they took care of it.
The DJ we hired for the reception (spitting image of Adam Sandler)
brought an assistant, Eric, who by concidence was friends with one of my
bride's maids, Julie. I had met Eric the year before when Julie
introduced us at the Madness concert in Davis, so he knew what a Madness
fan I am. The background music during dinner included "The Sun & The
Rain", and during the dancing portion of the evening there were many
Madness songs and other ska gems.
One of my fond memories is of my husband and most of our attendants
forming a nutty train during One Step Beyond. Word of advice...do not
try to join a nutty train wearing a floor length dress. I realized the
error before anthing drastic happened but if it had been a couple of
glasses of wine later in the day it might be one of those stories you
hear about for years. ;) Another image that will stay with me forever is
Don's 86 year old grandmother, who had been drinking Manhattens and was
quite tipsy, dancing to "Night Boat to Cairo". Classic!
Don and his attendants left to their own devices with the photographer,
had some pictures taken in the "7" pose, which are some of my favorites!
Cheers!
