Morning peeps- Wayfinder reporting still absolutely bladderd from the smashstock.........! ok ok ok ok ok ....... My thoughts before hand: 1. Its going to be really shite 2. Its going to be out of this world!! Well it was absolutely f0cking brilliant !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :) I mean it!!! if you didn't go, you missed a piece of history! wwawawawaw!! The sun was shining all day!! What a day!! My head really hurts ! The 'Velvet ghost' did REALLY walk amongst you in Finsbury Park. On my way to the beer tent for some light refreshment- I spot in the distance coming down the road a bagpiper in full blow, as he came closer I spotted someone behind him- I thought 'whats all this about' - It was Cathal!! what an entrance- mister Cathal Smith I said- he looked a tad bit nervous:)- I rushed back to the tent to inform everyome that he was coming on.- Then he came on and the first notes of 'We are Love' rang out -along with him in a very husky voice!! The tent was packed! excellent turnout! ( I feel sorry for the band that came on afterwards- and 2 people watched them whilst we all sat out in the sun!!) I was at front centre stage with the two Vince's- and we gave it all !!! Brilliant gig. Plenty of photos and video cameras rolling- hopefully we'll see some soon on the velvet ghost website. set list:(not in any order) On stage for about 40 minutes I think. We are Love You're Wonderful Johnny the Horse (The full intro version !!) Hoo de la la (I feel ho de la la!!) Ditty (<whatever it was- for his young daughter in the crowd) This friend I know The Wizard Welcome to the darkside ( d d d d d d.. Darkside!) The Communicator Not sure if he did 'I'm going mad again.' I must say the new material was really good- I mean above average for a good Madness song. very catchy tunes!! the other old Madness tunes where beefed up, with lyrics being swapped and longer versions. The backing was amazing. Accordion, double bass- Sax trumpet keyboards- all brilliant!! Brilliant musicianship!! No doubt someone will go into detail about the tracks. The aftergig booze up at the DC was well above average for a madmeet!! All the maddies where on top form. ! Vast amounts of intoxicating liquor being consumed (Drunkenness in general!), Chatting up women, spilling beer everywhere, singing shouting etc.. etc..!! ;) Great!! BIG hi to.......... The two Vince's- Foley & Carden, what a double act!! - Nice to meet Vince Carden for the first time- go out and buy his fanzine! Sigal and her lovely sister! who made the trip all the way from Israel!! ( I wont ignore the ICQs anymore!!) Wee stoo (Irun Bru and very large whiskeys!) Mr G (Top tie!) Mike Farmer (had to jet off back to Ireland early) Mrs Barzo from the list and a few others whose names escape me-Sorry if I missed you, but it was great to see some new faces!! No Scatty (we need a sick note scatty !;) )- Suggsylia managed to come to the after gig piss up though. Managed to say hello to Adel at the gig and I think I spotted Emma. In the words of Vince Foley, describing the days events: 'The last two madstocks rolled into one' He was right you know Pity I cant make Friday :( anyway enjoy yourselves!! and enjoy your Sundays I'm off for two paracetamol and a gallon of coffee!! seeyah Simon. - ______________________________________________________________ Visit the Total Madness Mailing List website for: latest news, madmeet info, list charter, games, and more ... http://members.xoom.com/totalmadmail/ Contact the TMML Moderators at: [EMAIL PROTECTED] To unsubscribe, send an e-mail to: [EMAIL PROTECTED] and in the message body put: unsubscribe total-madness
