Hi all!
While browsing the Glastonbury site on nme.com I perchanced on the following
article. Maybe I missed it but I never saw it mentioned on the telly...

Reef pay tribute to Ian Dury at Glastonbury...
REEF have just left the PYRAMID STAGE at GLASTONBURY FESTIVAL today
(Saturday, June 24) having paid tribute to IAN DURY.
Frontman Gary Stringer told the audience: 'When we said we were going to
play this festival, Ian Dury was on the bill. We were really excited, you
know.' He paused, then shouted: 'Come on! Let's hear it for Ian Dury!' and
the band launched into Ian Dury And The Blockheads' 'Sex And Drugs And Rock
and Roll', to a rapturous response from the audience.
Afterwards, the staff at the tent for the Bacup Cancer Charity which is only
a few yards from the side of the stage, said they were astonished when they
heard Reef burst into a rendition of the song.
Dury supported Bacup before his death from cancer earlier this year and the
charity organised a tribute concert two weeks ago for the singer, featuring
The Blockheads playing with a roster of stars including Robbie Williams.
(Mr.G - what!! No mention of Madness!!)
The volunteers manning the stall said they were delighted at the unexpected
tribute and added: 'We've had loads of kids in asking who Ian Dury was, so
this is fantastic, now they know what he actually sounded like.'
--------------------------------------------------------
So there you go! Hopefully we'll get to hear/see it during the highlights
package they always run.
Mr.G
