Maybe not in terms of music, but it certainly is worth a few quid now.

It was not pulled before release at all. There was a rule with the chart
compilers at the time (I think it was Gallup) that you could not give away
free gifts with records to entice people to buy them. The Flag Bag was
classed as a free gift, so the rule was that if you went into a shop and
asked for the Flag Bag of Uncle Sam, they weren't allowed to sell it to you!
How they imagined they would be able to enforce this is beyond me, but that
is the simple truth (and I'm sure others on the list will confirm it).
It didn't stop me getting my copy from 'Earfriend' in Teddington though.
Along with my Uncle Sam Flag Bag, my most treasured Madness release must be
the jigsaw picture discs of What's That (both of them), as I understand that
they're worth a few quid these days.
I would also rate my copy of the Madstock CD signed by everyone but Mike and
Mark, when I first got to talk to my heroes at the launch of the album at
Tower Records in Piccadily Circus. You could offer me a million pounds for
my 'Madstuff', but you'll never get it!!!!
Goodnight.
Andrew.
