Evening everybody,
Okay, so it's not an account of Crunch,
it's an account of the evening after, but I just got home from an absolutely
mad weekend! I was so disappointed to not be able to make it into
town to see Crunch and the rest of you on Friday, but there was no can do.
I've heard some fantastic reports from Em and Sophie already, so it sounds like
those of you who did go had a blast! I look forward to hearing the rest of
your reviews really soon.
Well, after missing out on Friday (the
ticket is still blue tacked to my wall) I rang round to see who was still in
town for a quick drink on Saturday. I finally arrived outside the
SpreadEagle at 9pm, with only half an hour for a quick drink and hellos before
they were off to see Cheryl's mates play at The Verge.
I was greeted by Sarah with massive hugs
and dragged inside to find Bex, Scatty (sober... well, kind of) Vince, Vince,
Chris and James and "WAAYY! IT'S CAZ!"
Oh btw guys, I came home to find a very
strange message on my answer machine... I wonder who that was... ;o)
naming no names of course... Mr Scahill & Mr Carden!!!!!!
Well, the kind hearted souls that us
Madness fans are, they wouldn't let me leave and miss out on another night's
festivities, so Cheryl very kindly offered to put me up for the
night.
As you can imagine, the topic of my, ahem,
sanity came up in conversation with Vince several times last night, but I'll
leave the newest insight into the dreams fiasco for Vince to tell all when he
gets home. An intriguing idea came from it too... but I have a feeling
you'll have to wait for that one... ;o)
Were you being serious Vince? I
bloody well hope so!
We moved off to The Verge & waited for
Freefall to come on stage. They were fantastic! Everyone was
impressed and I know their following has already increased after last
night. Cheers to Cheryl for giving us a chance to see them
play!
The club started filling up and more and
more pints seemed to be magically disappeared by Saint Scaticus. Yeah
mate, we love you too... yes Scatty, we love you okay?
Night getting on, few more drinks, bitta'
air, getting covered in Carlsberg, Vince Foley having a bit too much and ending
up leaning against a postbox.
Me: Is he gonna be
okay?
Vince C: Yeah, he's just waiting for
the post.
You're right Vince, lame but hilarious!
;o)
Lots of celebs in the club; Blur, Sarah
Kawood... ermm... can't remember anyone else...
Anyway, after a small hiccup into the
evening where our Sarah wasn't feeling all too well, everyone decided to call it
a night. Well, I say everyone... the Vinces said their goodbyes and Becky
and Sarah left for their hotel in a cab... Scat was left dancing the night
away. Chel and I caught a cab home & finally crashed into bed at
5am.
I was pleasantly woken 2 hours later with
a facial from Flap the cat... hehe luuuuvely!!
I then enjoyed a pleasant day around the
market looking for Madness merchandise and a mooch round Covent Garden for
the limited edition cherry reds the Dr Marten store put out last
year. No such luck, but it was a lovely day all the
same.
Not Crunch! but still fabulous
company!
I'll just have to look forward to the
next set of gigs... it sounds promising!
Look forward to reading about the
rest of the weekend shortly,
Caz
