Pal in Coventry tells me there's a 2-Tone musical opening in a theatre there
next month. Called Three Minute Heroes, it tells the tale of 'a group of
young wannabes who aim for Ska domination' and features around 30 songs from
the early 80s, including Madness, The Specials, The Selecter and The Beat.
Unfortunately there are no members from any of the original bands in it, but
sounds good anyway, bit like one of those Buddy Holly revival-type shows
that do so well in London. It's on at The Belgrade Theatre from September 12
if anyone wants to go.
On the same subject, anyone ever catch the similar sort of Madness musical
that was on in London in around 92/93? Remember seeing adverts for it, but I
lived in Brum and never got round to going. Was it called One Step Beyond or
summat? About homeless chap? Any clues?
